General Summary
This position performs a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phase of equipment, systems, or processes. Specifications are prepared, and necessary subcontracts and requisitions are defined. The candidate has thorough knowledge of own subject area or discipline and basic knowledge of others. He/she understands the objectives of the area and related regulatory and/or industry requirements and practices. He/She works well with others and has good written and oral communication skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • Assignments are generally well defined.
  • As experience allows, the individual is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex assignments.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment sizing and specification.
  • Developing conceptual process designs including PFD’s and Heat and Material Balances.
  • Development of P&ID’s and an understanding of process instrumentation and controls.
  • Participation in Process Hazard Analyses.
  • Participation in client meetings.
  • Preparing engineering study reports.

Key Qualifications (Education, Experience & Certifications):
  • BS or MS graduate of a Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
  • 3 to 7 years' experience.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred
  • Plant Experience is a plus

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel as this position will require individuals to be onsite with customers.
  • Willingness to work in hazardous environments while onsite with customers.
  • Ability/Willingness to climb to elevated platforms via plant stairs and ladders at client sites.
