General Summary
This position performs a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phase of equipment, systems, or processes. Specifications are prepared, and necessary subcontracts and requisitions are defined. The candidate has thorough knowledge of own subject area or discipline and basic knowledge of others. He/she understands the objectives of the area and related regulatory and/or industry requirements and practices. Possess excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment on multiple projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
  • As experience allows, the individual is expected to assist in the design of larger and more complex assignments.
  • Experienced in the design of HVAC, piping, plumbing and fire protection systems for industrial construction.
  • Familiarity with industrial equipment sizing and specification
  • Prepare engineering solutions for complex, challenging and innovative designs
  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines
  • Develop and evaluate mechanical systems and products by designing and applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials.
  • Preparation of construction documents including drawings, specifications, calculations, and details.
  • Miscellaneous design efforts associated with projects for industrial use
  • Interaction with clients and regulatory agencies.

Key Qualifications (Education, Experience & Certifications):
  • BS or MS graduate in Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 to 7 years' experience.
  • Professional Engineer License (PE) preferred
  • Plant Experience is a Plus

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel as this position will require individuals to be onsite with customers.
  • Willingness to work in hazardous environments while onsite with customers.
  • Ability/Willingness to climb to elevated platforms via plant stairs and ladders at client sites.
