General Summary
The Civil/Structural Engineer works closely with the Architectural, Piping Design, Mechanical, Process and Electrical groups to design foundations, structures and pipe racks required to support process equipment, process piping, instrumentation and power cable trays, and electrical equipment. Additional work will include design of platforms, walkways and elevated structures and foundations.

Completed technical work is given to senior management for review and approval before presenting to the client. The Civil/Structural Engineer should be aware that the design process includes visiting clients’ facilities and performing physical work such as walking, standing, climbing ladders and lifting.


Key Qualifications (Education, Experience & Certifications):
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, advanced degree a plus
  • EIT Certification desired, PE a plus
  • Working Knowledge of national codes and standards such as IBC, ASEC-7, AISC, ACI, OSHA and ASTM.
  • Working knowledge of or familiarity with:
    • Microsoft Office products
    • Computer Aided Design (2-D CAD and 3-D CAD)
    • REVIT Structural
    • Understanding of STAAD, RAM Steel
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Attention to detail, highly organizedb and performing self-checking of work


Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel as this position will require individuals to be onsite with customers.
  • Willingness to work in hazardous environments while onsite with customers.
  • Ability/Willingness to climb to elevated platforms via plant stairs and ladders at client sites.
